Beautiful Woman Falls Into a Jungle River and a Wild Man Hunts Her Down to Return Her Shoe

A young Englishwoman travels down a jungle river in a stately barge with her parents and the richest man in England, whom she has just married. While the three celebrate their fortune, she remains silent, unable to feign a happiness she doesn't feel. The journey ends in a matter of seconds. A colossal crocodile attacks the boat and capsizes it. She is the only one who reaches the shore. Without family, without her husband, and with nothing but her soaked dress, she ventures deeper into the jungle. Downriver, a man raised among the trees finds a satin shoe floating in the current. He smells it, recognizes an unfamiliar scent, and sets out to find the person who lost it. When he finds her, he doesn't know how to speak to her: he leaves her fruit, cooks her a fish, and protects her. Little by little, the woman who hated her life learns to laugh in the worst place on earth. But the river didn't take everything. Someone else survived that day and has been walking through the jungle for weeks, searching for her. And when he finally finds her, he sees her laughing with someone else.
