Modern Hillside Architecture: Green Roofs, Terraced Stone, and Cantilever Decks (1326 sq ft)

Discover how a challenging steep slope can be transformed into a brilliant design blueprint rather than an obstacle. Explore a modern hillside home that splits into two offset volumes, allowing the landscape to be stepped rather than flattened to minimize excavation and nest the lower floor in cool, stable earth. (1326 sq ft) From an eco-friendly planted roof that insulates and serves as an upper-level garden to terraced stone walls and a stunning cantilevered deck resting on minimal footings, this residence redefines sustainable modern living. ✨ 📌 Architectural Highlights: • Hillside Integration: Two offset volumes step into the terrain, cutting excavation and keeping the lower floor nested in stable earth. • Multi-Functional Green Roof: Insulates the home, absorbs rainfall, and creates an elevated garden for the upper level. • Outdoor Engineering: Terraced stone walls slow water runoff while a cantilevered deck reaches gracefully over the slope. 🔔 If you love modern hillside architecture, sustainable design, and creative small home engineering, make sure to LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE for more weekly house tours! #modernhillside #greenrooftop #hillsidehome #sustainablearchitecture #modernhousedesigns #architecturaltour #smallmodern #ecomodernhouse #homedesigninspiration
