Description

Picture the counter at the end of a long day, with onion skins on the cutting board, a pan that needs scrubbing, and three more things waiting in the sink. In this video, Randy shares ten three-ingredient slow cooker dinners where none of that happens, because there is nothing to chop, nothing to brown, and nothing to stir. You open three things, put them in the pot, put the lid on, and walk away. These easy, low-effort slow cooker recipes are perfect for older adults, seniors, and anyone cooking for one or two who is tired of standing at the stove, and younger viewers will find them just as useful. You will learn dinners like salsa chicken, pot roast with potatoes, barbecue chicken, sausage and white beans, and pulled pork. Randy also covers pork chops and sauerkraut, cola beef that turns the cheapest cut in the store into something you can eat with a spoon, meatballs and gravy, chicken and green beans with the vegetables going in frozen, and a peach dump cobbler you can make in the same pot for dessert. Salt, pepper, and water do not count, and nothing else sneaks in. More importantly, each dinner comes with the small technique that makes it work. You will see why beans go in the bottom of the pot to catch the chicken juices, why you keep the lid on and resist opening it, and why a chuck roast is safe at 145 degrees but does not get tender until it reaches closer to 200. Randy also explains why you do not stir a dump cobbler, how to thicken a thin sauce by leaving the lid off, and how mashing a few beans against the pot thickens a sauce without adding anything. Tell us in the comments which one you are trying first, and if you have a three ingredient dinner of your own that you make, tell us what goes in it.
