12,000 Years Ago in Los Angeles | Life Before Civilization

12,000 Years Ago in Los Angeles | Life Before Civilization What did the land we now call Los Angeles look like 12,000 years ago? Long before skyscrapers, highways, airplanes, electricity, and crowded neighborhoods, Southern California was a world of open valleys, rolling hills, streams, wetlands, coastal landscapes, and wild vegetation. In this documentary, we travel back approximately 12,000 years to explore how early human communities may have lived in the ancient Los Angeles region. Discover how people found water, gathered wild plants, made stone tools, maintained fire, prepared food, built temporary shelters, taught children, and survived by understanding the natural environment around them. We also explore the ancient coastline, natural resources, changing seasons, night skies, and the knowledge that was passed from one generation to another. This video is based on archaeological and environmental understanding of ancient Southern California. Because direct evidence cannot tell us every detail of daily life, some scenes are visual reconstructions created to help imagine the past. Step into a world before modern Los Angeles existed. #LosAngeles #12000YearsAgo #AncientHistory #PrehistoricAmerica #HumanHistory #Archaeology #AncientCalifornia #HistoryDocumentary #history #historyfacts #usa #englishhistory
