Description
The Locomotive Fleet Union Pacific Left to Rot in the Desert
Union Pacific ordered them by the hundreds. Millions of dollars per unit, painted Armour Yellow, lettered and numbered and dispatched across the Rockies and the Great Basin. Within a decade, many of those same machines were towed to a stretch of alkaline desert and parked in rows, nose to tail, fuel drained, batteries disconnected and pulled.
