Description

The week I turned 65 I sat down with every bill in the house and a red pencil and crossed out twelve lines we'd been paying since the children were home. Added up for a year, it came to $3,437. Here are all twelve, what each one costs you right now, and the one phone call or Saturday that stops it: the wire plan on the phone bill, premium gas, magazines that renew themselves, the lawn plan, the warehouse club, the bug man's contract, the grocery cart for five, paper and stamps, the garage refrigerator, the family phone plan, protection plans, and the charges you never signed for. I'm not a lawyer or an accountant. If it's taxes or insurance, call a real hand. Write it down, friend. Paper remembers.
