We’ll explore a black hole spinning dangerously close to the limits of physics, one repeatedly tearing material from the same star, an eruption powerful enough to carve an enormous cavity through a galaxy cluster, and jets moving so fast they can appear to travel faster than light. Then things get even stranger: a black hole whose corona almost completely vanished, another feeding far beyond its supposed theoretical limit, black holes found inside the mysterious stellar “mass gap,” and monsters appearing so early in the universe that scientists are still trying to explain how they grew so quickly.
