I Raised Wild Caterpillars Into Butterflies

I found 18 wild caterpillars in Michigan and raised them through every stage.. molting, chrysalis, and metamorphosis to find out how many would actually survive to become butterflies. Most caterpillars in the wild never make it this far. This is what happens when they do. From black swallowtails and monarchs to tent caterpillars and a leaf roller moth, this is a full look at metamorphosis: how each species builds its chrysalis or cocoon differently, what happens inside as the caterpillar’s body completely breaks down and rebuilds, and the exact moment each one emerges as a butterfly. 🐛 What you’ll see: • Finding 18 caterpillars across 5 species in the wild • Raising monarch, black swallowtail, tent caterpillar & leaf roller moth larvae • The chrysalis and cocoon building process for each species • Real emergence footage & wings expanding for the first time • The parasitic wasp threat that nearly wiped out two species
