Description

There are at least 17 things inside the Jewish Tabernacle that point to Jesus. Some are obvious Some are incredibly specific. And some are connections the New Testament actually makes for us. By the end, you can decide whether Christians are reading Jesus back into the story— or whether He was there all along. Let’s start with number one: The Tabernacle itself. ⸻ Did the Jewish Tabernacle actually predict Jesus more than a thousand years before He came? In this Bible study, we walk through 17 pieces of evidence connecting the Tabernacle of Moses to Jesus Christ — from the entrance and bronze altar all the way into the Holy of Holies and the Ark of the Covenant. Some of these connections are symbolic. Some develop through Old Testament prophecy. And some are connections the New Testament explicitly makes for us. We’ll look at the sacrifice and blood, the bronze laver, golden lampstand, Bread of the Presence, altar of incense, veil, High Priest, Ark of the Covenant, mercy seat, covenant Law, manna, Aaron’s rod, cherubim, and the glory of God. You’ll see why John describes Jesus as “dwelling” among us using Tabernacle language; why Jesus says He came not to abolish the Law but to fulfill it; why Hebrews presents Jesus as our great High Priest; and why Paul uses the Greek word hilastērion — the same word Hebrews uses for the mercy seat — when describing what God accomplished through Jesus. The question is whether Christians are simply reading Jesus back into the Jewish Scriptures — or whether the pattern was there long before Jesus was born.
