Description

What does self-care look like for a godly woman? The world often tells us that self-care means escaping our responsibilities, getting away, or finding something that makes us feel better. But biblical self-care looks different. As women of God, we can care for our bodies, minds, and souls while remembering that our deepest source of rest and peace is Jesus. In this video, I’m sharing 7 biblical self-care habits that can help us slow down, spend time with the Lord, care for the bodies God has given us, prepare for our days, replace lies with God’s truth, and experience the peace that only Jesus can give. Jesus said: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 And Philippians 4:6–7 reminds us that when we bring our worries to God in prayer, His peace can guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. This isn’t about creating a perfect, stress-free life. It’s about learning where to turn when life gets busy, overwhelming, or difficult. A godly woman’s self-care begins with Jesus. ❤️ Read More on the Blog: https://keepitsimpleannasue.com/biblical-self-care-for-women/ SIMPLE RECIPES MENTIONED 🍞 My Sourdough Bread Recipe: Keep It Simple Anna Sue: https://keepitsimpleannasue.com/simple-sourdough-pizza-bread-recipe/ HEALTHY HOMEMADE GRANOLA This simple granola is made with old-fashioned oats, pecans, coconut oil, maple syrup, dried cranberries, and dark chocolate. It’s an easy breakfast or snack to keep on hand. Ingredients: * 4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats * 1½ cups raw nuts or pecans * 1 teaspoon sea salt * ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon * ½ cup melted coconut oil * ½ cup maple syrup * 1 teaspoon vanilla * ⅔ cup dried cranberries * ½ cup dark chocolate morsels Directions: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, nuts, salt, and cinnamon. Stir well. Add the melted coconut oil, maple syrup, and vanilla. Mix until everything is well coated. Spread the granola onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer. Bake for 22–24 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow the granola to cool completely and undisturbed for about 1 hour. This is important because adding the chocolate while the granola is still warm will cause it to melt. Once completely cooled, sprinkle the dried cranberries and dark chocolate morsels over the granola. Break it into pieces and store in an airtight container. FRESH CHICKPEA (GARBANZO BEAN) SALAD This easy chickpea salad is fresh, simple, and full of wholesome ingredients. Ingredients: * 2 (15-ounce) cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed OR about 3 cups cooked chickpeas * 1 medium bell pepper, chopped * 1½ cups fresh parsley, chopped * ½ cup red onion, chopped * ½ cup celery, chopped * 3 tablespoons olive oil * 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice * 2 cloves garlic, minced * 1 teaspoon salt * 1 teaspoon black pepper * Additional lemon juice, salt, or pepper to taste Directions: If using dried chickpeas, soak overnight in water according to package directions. I used about 3 cups of dried chickpeas and soaked them overnight in approximately 8 cups of water. Cook according to the package directions until tender, which took about 45–60 minutes. If using canned chickpeas, simply drain and rinse them well. Add the chickpeas, bell pepper, parsley, red onion, celery, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper to a large bowl. Stir everything together, taste, and add additional lemon juice, salt, or pepper as desired. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Thank you for being here and spending a little bit of time with me. I hope this video encourages you to slow down, care for yourself in a biblical way, and remember that your ultimate source of rest isn’t found in a perfect routine—it’s found in Jesus. Keep it simple. Live with intention. And stay rooted in Christ. ❤️ Some of My Favorite Items (All are Amazon Affiliate Links) My Go-To Baking Pan: https://amzn.to/4zYW7Ax The Bible Reading Plan My Friends and I used Last Year: https://amzn.to/4ilwN1s What I'm Currently Reading: https://amzn.to/4A5ExuC & https://amzn.to/4h2OOPN My Favorite Jar for Storing Granola (grains, oats, etc. as well): https://amzn.to/4xfarlM Fast Drying Towels for the Kitchen: https://amzn.to/4A5ExuC
