Then a run of accidental discoveries deep beneath our feet showed that some caves were never empty at all, and a few of them had been sealed off from the surface for longer than our own species has existed. In this Wrongly Assumed documentary we go into cave exploration and the hidden caves science almost never gets to touch: the deepest caves on the planet, the largest cave ever measured, underground rivers and underground lakes, and the strange life that grows in total darkness with no sunlight and no obvious way in or out. You'll find out what actually lives in sealed caves, how a few of them run entire ecosystems on their own chemistry, why the floor of a cave can hold things nobody thought to look for, and how some of the biggest breakthroughs in caving came from people who weren't even looking for a cave. It's a story about geology, biology, and everything we got wrong about what's really hidden underground.
