What would Minecraft actually look like at its true physical scale?
A single Minecraft block measures roughly one metre in each direction. But once we start building with those blocks, the scale becomes surprisingly difficult to imagine.
In this episode, we bring Minecraft into the real world using Unreal Engine 5, recreating its characters, structures, landscapes and enormous world at the same physical scale as real-world landmarks.
We start with Steve, Creepers, Enderman and Iron Golems, then explore what a solid gold block would actually weigh, how much a Shulker Box can hold, and just how small a Minecraft village house really is.
From there, we travel through the Nether, compare Minecraft's 384-metre vertical building range with the Empire State Building, and finally reveal the staggering size of the Minecraft Java Edition world border.
At approximately 60,000 kilometres across, Minecraft's possible world covers more than seven times the entire surface area of Earth.
And it all starts with a single block.
