In 1905, Einstein showed there is no universal "now," whether two events happen at the same time depends on how fast you're moving. That isn't a thought experiment, we’ve measured it and the physics is settled. In 1967, the philosopher Hilary Putnam took this one step further suggesting that if there is no shared present, then the past and future are as real as this moment. This is the theory of time that proves your past self still exists. 🎙️ Aperture on Spotify: https://bit.ly/aperturepod Aperture explores the ideas shaping how we think: philosophy, psychology, and the hidden forces behind human behavior.
