Pregnant Dog Found Searching for Food Gets a Safe Place Just Before Her Puppies Arrive

Trufa was a pregnant stray dog found searching for food near the Poás Volcano, just days before giving birth. She was rescued and taken for veterinary care, where an examination revealed that she was carrying eight puppies. Trufa was brought to a safe foster home where she could rest and prepare for motherhood. When labor began, seven puppies were successfully born. Sadly, the eighth puppy could not be saved, but Trufa received veterinary care and returned safely to her foster home with her seven surviving puppies. Now, Trufa and her little family are safe, warm, and cared for.
