Description

In this half automotive history episode, half car review we take a look at the history of the Dutch DAF passenger cars and their unique feature: the Variomatic, one of the first continuously variable transmissions! This allowed the cars to move as fast in reverse as they could move forward and were among the fastest cars ever to drive in reverse. And this let to a daft Dutch tradition: reverse racing! We also take a spin in a 1974 DAF 46 De Luxe to experience what it's like to race a DAF in reverse. Remember to like, subscribe and share if you want more of this!
