WTF Happened to the Stargate Film Universe? Why Did a $196M Hit Never Get a Real Movie Sequel?

It won’t be too big of a stretch if I say Stargate is one of the biggest names in science fiction, which spanned across seventeen seasons of live-action television along three series. It was covered into various media forms like novels, comics, and conventions with a fandom base so devoted that this summer fans flew a banner over Amazon's headquarters begging for more. Yet the film universe of Stargate only comprises one movie. This movie, which was released in 1994, had grossed almost two hundred million dollars, yet in the thirty-two years since its release, it has never gotten a sequel. #Stargate #Stargate1994 #StargateFranchise #StargateMovie
