In this powerful conversation, Ahmad shares his personal journey from growing up in a deeply Islamic environment, becoming Salafi, questioning the Quran, and eventually walking away from Islam altogether. He explains the questions that began troubling him, his encounters with Islamic scholars, and why he says he found himself unable to get satisfying answers. But his journey didn’t stop at atheism. After reading the Torah and the Bible, Ahmad describes what drew him toward Christianity and why the teachings of Jesus began to stand out to him. The conversation also dives into the Quran, Sharia, Islamic history, the treatment of Jesus, the Trinity, the Bible, and the radically different understandings of God, mercy, and love. Why did a former Salafi Muslim reject Islam? What did he discover when he started reading the Bible? And why did he ultimately decide to follow Christ?
