Description

In a shocking case from Sacramento, California, 38-year-old Indian-origin woman Shalini Thakur was fatally shot in broad daylight by 22-year-old Rohit, an undocumented Indian immigrant, in an alleged case of obsessive one-sided stalking. Following the shooting, the accused took his own life at the scene. According to reports, the suspect had been harassing and stalking Shalini for nearly a year, despite a restraining order issued against him. Shockingly, he had even placed an AirTag in her car to track her movements. While local authorities were aware of previous complaints, they were unable to apprehend him before this tragic incident occurred. Shalini’s mother and family, devastated by the loss, held her final rites in the US as community members rally support through crowdfunding.
