Description

In 1995, Julia Roberts agreed to appear on Friends on one condition: her storyline had to be with Chandler. Matthew Perry sent her roses. She asked him to explain quantum physics. He did, and that was the start of a love story written on fax paper. A few months later, he ended it. Not because he stopped loving her, but because he was sure she would one day leave him. So he left first. In part 2 of our Matthew Perry series, we follow the women he loved and the fear that kept pulling him away: Julia Roberts, his six years with Lizzy Caplan and the proposal he never made, his engagement to Molly Hurwitz, and the moment he finally recognized his own pattern. We tell it as much as possible in Matthew’s own words, from his memoir and his interviews. ▶ Part 1, the lonely boy from Ottawa: https://youtu.be/4-NEq7x-clY ▶ Part 3, the family he left behind: coming soon. Subscribe so you don’t miss it. Do you think Matthew and Julia could have made it if he hadn’t been so afraid?
