After leaving the James River behind, our journey through Virginia led us to the town of Bedford — a place we never expected to find ourselves camping just outside of. Sometimes, the road has a way of taking us places we never planned, and we're reminded that not every memorable campsite has to be deep in the wilderness. Our camp was close to town, with the sounds of passing traffic in the distance as people made their way home after a long day. We settled in, enjoyed a simple dinner of leftovers from the road, and gathered around the campfire as the daylight slowly faded. And somehow, as evening settled in, the noise began to disappear, leaving us with a quieter, more peaceful night.
