Description
Most people spray the plant.
The old-school trick is to spray the pest.
In this video, I break down why insecticidal soap can work so fast against soft-bodied garden pests like aphids, mealybugs, whiteflies, psyllids, and spider mites — and why so many people think it “doesn’t work” simply because they never make direct contact with the insect.
You’ll see why the underside of leaves matters, why curled leaves can protect pests, why stronger chemicals do not fix bad application, and why household dish soap is not the same thing as a properly labeled insecticidal soap.
We also cover when plain water may be enough, when beneficial insects should be left alone, and which pests require completely different control methods.
The key is simple: identify the pest, find where it is actually hiding, and use the smallest method that fits the problem.
