Description

Landing a fighter jet on an aircraft carrier is one of the most demanding tasks in aviation. Surprisingly, pilots keep the engines at full power as the aircraft touches down! The secret lies in a special hook beneath the aircraft. It catches an arresting cable stretched across the carrier’s deck, allowing the system to stop the jet in a remarkably short distance. But pilots cannot assume the cable has caught the hook until the landing is confirmed. If the hook misses the cable, the aircraft needs enough power to accelerate and take off again. This technique, known as a bolter, helps the pilot avoid running off the end of the short flight deck. Would you have guessed why pilots use full power during landing? Tell us in the comments, and follow for more fascinating aviation facts! #AircraftCarrier #FighterJet #AviationFacts #MilitaryAircraft #PilotTraining #BolterLanding #Shorts #ThisisBelal
