This video explains every influential European gun design that American soldiers, police and civilians still use today, from the Mauser 98 to the Glock and the Benelli M4.
Most of the guns Americans think of as their own started in Europe. The Springfield 1903 copied the Mauser. The M16 only exists because the German StG 44 proved the intermediate cartridge idea. The M240 and M249 are Belgian FN designs under American names. This video covers the rifles, machine guns, submachine guns, pistols and shotguns from Germany, Belgium, Austria, Britain, Italy and the Soviet bloc.
