The Untouchable Warlord Arkan & The Serbian Mafia

Željko Ražnatović, widely known as Arkan, was far more than an ordinary mob boss. Rising from a notorious bank robber in Western Europe to the commander of the feared paramilitary unit "Arkan's Tigers," he built a multi-million-dollar criminal empire backed directly by state intelligence during the Yugoslav Wars. Operating with absolute impunity in Belgrade, Arkan controlled fuel and weapons smuggling, luxury real estate, and elite football clubs. But when international warrants mounted and political shifts began to threaten the regime, his untouchable status evaporated. On January 15, 2000, inside Belgrade’s InterContinental Hotel, three bullets brought his reign to a bloody end. This documentary breaks down the rise, dominance, and execution of Europe’s most infamous warlord—and how his death ignited a violent struggle that paved the way for the ruthless Zemun Clan. 🔔 Subscribe to the channel and turn on notifications so you don't miss Part 2: The Rise and Fall of the Zemun Clan. ⏱️ CHAPTERS / TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 - The Cold Hit at the InterContinental 1:15 - Rising from Bank Robber to Secret Service Asset 2:45 - The Warlord: Building Arkan’s Tigers 4:20 - An Empire Built on Smuggling and State Protection 5:40 - The Golden Era and the Shadow of Extradition 6:30 - The Pawn and the Conspirators 7:03 - The Fall of the Regime and the Power Vacuum 7:47 - Belgrade's Next Nightmare: Enter the Zemun Clan 8:13 - Outro: What Comes Next 🌐 GLOBAL SYNDICATES SERIES: Explore our investigations into international organized crime: • The Brutal Glasgow Gang War: https://youtu.be/WFXQpQJOm3g • The 1990s Eastern Bloc Mob That Terrorized Europe: https://youtu.be/94dpAM1yupo • The Albanian Cartels of Western Europe: https://youtu.be/s3cA8spiBlo • The Irish Mob Boss The DEA Put a $5,000,000 Bounty On: https://youtu.be/XJD3BoiBt80 #TrueCrime #SerbianMafia #Arkan #ZemunClan #Belgrade #CrimeDocumentary #History
