Biggest Opening Weekends of All Time — Spider-Man Isn't #1

The 30 biggest opening weekends in movie history — worldwide, not domestic. Spider-Man: Brand New Day just broke the all-time domestic opening record ($360.1M, past Endgame's $357.1M). But on the worldwide chart it's still second: Avengers: Endgame opened to $1.2237 billion in 2019, and nothing has come close since. Ranked by worldwide opening weekend — a film's global gross across its first weekend of release. Not domestic-only, not the full run, not adjusted for inflation. Top 5: 1. Avengers: Endgame — $1,223.6M 2. Spider-Man: Brand New Day — $932.1M 3. Avengers: Infinity War — $640.5M 4. Spider-Man: No Way Home — $600.5M 5. Zootopia 2 — $560.3M Three of the entries — Ne Zha 2, Detective Chinatown 3, The Battle at Lake Changjin II — opened almost entirely in China. That's exactly why the worldwide chart looks different from the one you know. Sources: Box Office Mojo and studio reports, figures as of August 2026. Magnify — the world, ranked in 3D.
