Description

There is a reason you stopped making the good ones. It was never the cooking — it was the pan afterwards, the cheese welded into the corner, the water going cold while it soaks. Tonight, none of that. Ten hot dinners, one throw-away foil pan from the grocery store, and when you have eaten you fold it up and drop it in the bin. Hobo Dinner, Swiss Steak, Corn Casserole, Beef Tips with Onion Soup Mix — and a cherry cake at number nine that never touches a bowl, a mixer, or a pan you have to wash. ⏱️ DINNERS IN THIS VIDEO: 0:40 1. Hobo Dinner 2:46 2. Honey Mustard Chicken with Peaches 4:43 3. Corn Casserole 6:29 4. Swiss Steak (the oven does the tenderising) 8:20 5. Squash Casserole 10:07 6. Beef Tips with Onion Soup Mix 11:59 7. Pork Chops with Mushroom Gravy 13:48 8. Broccoli and Cheddar Bake 15:40 ⭐ 9. Cherry Dump Cake (no bowl, no mixer, no spoon) 17:30 10. Teriyaki Chicken with Pineapple 🍽️ FULL RECIPES (1-2 servings) 1. HOBO DINNER ½ lb ground beef • 2 cups FROZEN diced potatoes • ½ onion, sliced thin. Potatoes in first, spread flat. Beef broken over the top in WALNUT-SIZED pieces, not pressed down. Onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder. COVER TIGHTLY with foil, 400°F, 45 min, DO NOT OPEN. 👉 Secret: foil browns the bottom while the top steams — soft potatoes with a caught edge at once. 2. HONEY MUSTARD CHICKEN WITH PEACHES 2 cups pulled rotisserie chicken • ⅓ cup honey mustard • 1 can sliced peaches, DRAINED. Chicken flat in one layer, mustard over, turn ONCE. Peaches flat over the top, not piled. Pepper, NO salt. 375°F, 25 min, UNCOVERED. 👉 Secret: uncovered on purpose — the honey has to dry at the edges to go sticky. Drain the syrup. 3. CORN CASSEROLE 1 can whole kernel corn, DRAINED • 1 can creamed corn, NOT drained • 1 box corn muffin mix. Tip all three in. Stir TEN TIMES with a fork, until no dry mix shows, then stop. Level it. 350°F, 45 min, uncovered, until the middle stops wobbling. 👉 Secret: ten stirs is right, twenty makes it tough. The box is the right ratio, already measured. 4. SWISS STEAK 2 cube steaks (~½ lb) • 1 can diced tomatoes, JUICE AND ALL • ½ onion, sliced thin. Steaks flat, side by side, not overlapping. Onion over them, the whole can over that. Salt, pepper, oregano. COVER TIGHTLY, 350°F, 1 hour 15 min. 👉 Secret: cube steak is already tenderised at the shop. Lean beef asks only for time and liquid. 5. SQUASH CASSEROLE 2 yellow squash in coins • ½ onion, sliced thin • 1 cup shredded cheddar. Squash and onion tossed with salt, pepper and a spoon of oil, spread flat. COVER, 375°F, 25 min. Foil OFF, cheddar over, crushed crackers on top, back in UNCOVERED 10 min. 👉 Secret: salt at the START — summer squash is mostly water and you want it gone before the foil is off. 6. BEEF TIPS WITH ONION SOUP MIX 1 lb beef stew meat • 1 packet dry onion soup mix • 1 cup beef broth. Beef in, packet shaken over, turned once. Broth poured AROUND THE EDGES so the seasoning stays on the meat. COVER TIGHTLY, 325°F, 2½ HOURS, do not lift it. 👉 Secret: the cornstarch in the packet turns the broth into gravy as the meat cooks. 7. PORK CHOPS WITH MUSHROOM GRAVY 2 pork chops • 1 can cream of mushroom soup • HALF a can of water. Chops flat. Stir soup and water smooth RIGHT IN THE CAN, pour over to cover. Pepper, taste before salt. COVER TIGHTLY, 350°F, 1 hour. 👉 Secret: thin it with WATER, not milk — milk splits over an hour of heat. Low-sodium can, same result. 8. BROCCOLI AND CHEDDAR BAKE 2 cups pulled rotisserie chicken • 1 bag FROZEN broccoli florets • 1 jar cheddar cheese sauce. Broccoli in STRAIGHT FROM THE BAG, still frozen. Chicken over it, cheese sauce over the lot, DO NOT STIR. Pepper, no salt. 375°F, 30 min, uncovered. 👉 Secret: frozen, always. Thawed broccoli lets its water go and the sauce ends up in a puddle. 9. CHERRY DUMP CAKE ⭐ 1 can cherry pie filling • HALF a box yellow cake mix • 4 tbsp butter. Filling in, spread flat. Dry cake mix shaken over the top STRAIGHT FROM THE BOX and left DRY — do not stir. Butter in a dozen thin slices over the dry mix. 350°F, 40 min, uncovered. 👉 Secret: the dry patches are meant to be there — they are the crisp part. Batter needs a bowl. 10. TERIYAKI CHICKEN WITH PINEAPPLE 2 cups pulled rotisserie chicken • ⅓ cup teriyaki sauce • 1 can pineapple CHUNKS, DRAINED. Chicken in the pan, teriyaki over, turned once. Pineapple on top. 375°F, 25 MINUTES — the sugar burns past that. 👉 Secret: shake the can out — the juice is sweet enough to stop the glaze setting. Chunks, not rings.
