30 Strange Facts About Nigeria That Are Actually True

Nigeria is way stranger than you think. Most people hear "Nigeria" and think of two things: oil and Nollywood. Then they move on. Big mistake. This is a country with the rarest gorilla left on Earth. A boat older than the pyramids. A river so confused it runs away from the ocean before turning back. A town that can't stop having twins. A lake that sits on top of a mountain and never dries up. And a people who skipped an entire age of human history. Nigeria is older, stranger, and wilder than the world ever gives it credit for — and almost none of this makes it into the headlines. Here are 30 geography facts about Nigeria. Let's get into it.
