📘 FORTY YEARS AT THE WINDOW — https://wendellswindow.com
After forty years of watching thousands of birds visit my feeder, I’ve found only seven dead ones. In this video, I explain where the others go—and why the answer reveals more about the hidden workings of a backyard than most of us ever see.
I look at why dying birds seek cover, how quickly predators and scavengers remove small bodies, and why window strikes are the major exception. I also share ways to help prevent deadly collisions and what to do if you find a dead bird.
Tell me your state and how many dead birds you’ve come across. I read every comment, and I’d like to know whether seven in forty years is a lot.
