Description
Africa’s new tallest building may be rising in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Tour F is planned at around 421 meters and could challenge Egypt’s Iconic Tower. But the real story began more than 50 years ago.
Africa may be getting a new tallest skyscraper, and its story is much bigger than height. Tour F is a supertall tower under construction in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, in the Plateau district. Planned at around 421 meters, or 1,381 feet, with more than 70 floors, the tower could challenge Egypt’s Iconic Tower and transform the skyline of West Africa.
But Tour F is not just another skyscraper. Its story began more than 50 years ago, when Abidjan planned a modern Administrative City in Plateau. Towers A, B, C, D, and E were built, but Tower F remained delayed for decades. Now, after half a century, that missing piece is finally rising.
In this documentary, we explore the history, design, engineering, and symbolism behind Tour F. From its 1970s planning vision to its deep foundations, central concrete core, double-skin façade, wind engineering, and African-inspired faceted form, Tour F represents more than a building. It represents Côte d’Ivoire’s ambition, Abidjan’s modernization, and a new chapter for African skylines.
This is the story of Tour F — Africa’s possible next tallest building, 50 years in the making.
