📌 Every price and statistic in this video is sourced. Full list in the pinned comment.
If you've ever stood at the register watching the total climb past what you planned, this one's for you. Most of what goes into a cart each week is the same plain food you could buy for a fraction of the price, taken apart, repackaged, and sold back at a markup. So I set myself a challenge. Thirty dollars. One cart. One hundred and twenty six meals. That's about twenty four cents a plate.
In this one I'll walk you through the exact eleven item cart, what each one cost, and what it makes:
🫘 The cheapest real protein in the store, and why it sits down by your ankles
🍚 The four staples that cover six weeks of breakfasts and bread for under fifteen dollars
🥬 The one vegetable that keeps for a month and never turns to slime in the drawer
🧂 The seventy six cent item that matters more than everything else in the cart
…and the honest answer to that question mark in the title, because a thirty dollar cart can do a lot, but it can't do everything.
Try even three items from this list next week and watch what happens to your bill. Nothing in this cart goes bad before you get to eat it, and that's the whole trick.
If feeding your family well on far less sounds like your kind of kitchen, subscribe and stay a while. That's what we do here every week. 💛
What did your family eat when money was tightest, and what did it cost? Tell me down in the comments.
