What Alexander Hamilton Did Behind Closed Doors Was Not What You Were Told | History for Sleep

He was born illegitimate on a forgotten Caribbean island, orphaned by thirteen, and watched his own eldest son die in a duel at the exact same riverbank where he himself would be killed less than three years later. This is the real story behind the face on the ten-dollar bill: his penniless origins on Nevis and St. Croix, his meteoric rise as Washington's wartime aide, the financial system he single-handedly built as the first Treasury Secretary, the sex scandal he confessed to in agonizing public detail to protect his financial honor, his son Philip's death in 1801 following his own advice to throw away the first shot, and the fatal 1804 duel with Aaron Burr that applied that same doomed strategy to Hamilton himself. Let this quiet, detailed telling of America's most self-destructive genius carry you gently into sleep. 🕯️ #HistoryForSleep #AlexanderHamilton #FoundingFathers #AmericanHistory #SleepDocumentary #RelaxingHistory #AmericanRevolution
