Description

Practice telling a story in English with Day 3 of our five-day English shadowing challenge. Join David and Alice for travel stories, listening practice, and guided speaking about memorable experiences. Follow David's story about Japan, from the streets of Tokyo to a quiet bamboo forest in Kyoto. Then listen to Alice describe Marrakech, an unexpected conversation over mint tea, and a sunset in the Sahara. Today's lesson includes: • Three practice rounds: slow repetition, natural-speed shadowing, and a conversational challenge. • 18 storytelling phrases for describing places, reactions, and memorable moments. • A connected-speech spotlight on how familiar words can sound different together. • Three questions to help you tell your own story aloud. Practice expressions such as “You have to see it to believe it,” “Just taking it all in,” and “It broadens your perspective.” Listen for rhythm, stressed words, and the way speakers link or reduce sounds in conversation. Start with the slow round, repeat during the pauses, and replay short sections when you need more time. During the shadowing rounds, speak just behind the hosts and focus on clear, comfortable speech. This episode is designed for intermediate English learners who want practice describing experiences in fuller sentences. You can also describe a memorable place close to home. What is the most interesting place you've visited, or one place you dream of visiting? Tell us in the comments. Subscribe to continue the challenge with Day 4. #EnglishShadowing #EnglishSpeakingPractice #EnglishListeningPractice #ConnectedSpeech #TravelEnglish
