Michael Bennett & His Daughter Perform “Before the Tea Goes Cold” | Dad, I’m Home

Michael Bennett & his daughter perform “Before the Tea Goes Cold,” an emotional father-daughter duet about unconditional love, growing older, and finding the courage to come home. This 70s-inspired classic rock ballad follows a daughter who hides her struggles and a father who quietly waits for her return. When they reunite, she discovers that the hands that once supported her now need her care. Deep, weathered male vocals blend with a warm female voice, soulful guitar, piano, and Hammond organ—a heartfelt sound for a story about family, forgiveness, and the years we cannot get back. “You don’t have to come home strong.” If you’ve missed a child living far away or watched your father grow older, we hope this song speaks to you. ☕ What would you say to your father or daughter today?
