Description
Did Moses really lead the Israelites along a route that can still be traced today?
In this documentary, we investigate 7 ancient locations connected to the Exodus — from the mudbrick cities of ancient Egypt to Mount Sinai, Kadesh Barnea, the Gulf of Aqaba, Marah, Elim, and the copper mines of Timna.
At Tell el-Dab’a, archaeology reveals evidence of communities with roots in the Levant living in the Egyptian Delta. At Mount Sinai, competing locations continue to raise questions about where the biblical mountain may have stood.
We examine Ein el-Qudeirat as a possible Kadesh Barnea, Nuweiba as one proposed location for the Red Sea crossing, Ain Hawarah as a possible Marah, and Wadi Gharandel as a candidate for Elim.
Finally, we travel to Timna, where ancient copper mines, furnaces, and evidence of Egyptian activity reveal the material world surrounding the Exodus story.
Do these places prove the biblical Exodus?
No single discovery proves the entire account. Some locations remain hypothetical, while others provide historical evidence that fits parts of the world described in Exodus.
But together, these seven locations reveal something fascinating: the story of the Exodus unfolds across a real landscape of ancient Egypt, deserts, springs, mountains, roads, mines, and settlements.
Join BA Universe as we explore the archaeology, history, geography, and mysteries surrounding the Exodus and the journey of Moses.
