Description

In 2019, a group of 27 law students from the Pacific Islands launched a campaign to bring climate justice to the world's highest court, calling on wealthy countries to take greater responsibility for climate change. Normally, only states or recognized organizations can submit cases to the International Court of Justice. But the students wanted people directly affected by climate change to have a voice. Wealthy industrialized countries largely opposed these calls, arguing that international climate law does not clearly hold countries responsible for past emissions. #documentary #dwdocumentary #dwdocs #ClimateChange ______ We kindly ask viewers to read and stick to the DW netiquette policy on our channel: https://p.dw.com/p/MF1G
