Description

If you spot one of these jewelry brands in a thrift store, a church rummage sale or a dusty antique mall booth, do not walk past it. In this video I walk through ten jewelry brands that turn up again and again on thrift store shelves, priced at a dollar or two because the person who sorted them never turned them over, and that collectors will pay real money for. I am Roy Danforth, and for thirty-eight years I have been buying and pricing estate sales, flea markets and antique mall booths across the Ohio Valley and the Midwest. I have spent more mornings than I can count at the front door of a thrift store waiting for it to open, and I can tell you the sorters price what they recognize and miss what they do not. I will be honest with you from the start, most jewelry in a thrift store is exactly what it looks like, inexpensive costume pieces worth a few dollars, and I am not going to tell you every bin hides a treasure. But a signed piece from the right maker, in the right condition, can be worth many times what is on the tag. For every brand on this list, I will show you where the signature sits, how the clasp and the construction should feel in your hand, and the details that separate a genuine period piece from a later copy carrying a borrowed name, so you know within a minute whether to put it in your basket or leave it on the shelf. Do not pay a collector's price for a piece you have not checked, and do not leave a signed piece behind because it looked plain. If you find this useful, consider subscribing, because I go through a new jewelry box every week. And stay to the end, because the brand at number one is the one I see most often sitting on a thrift store shelf for a dollar, and it is the one I most want you to learn to recognize.
