Description

Ekurhuleni, Tsontso Moselakgomo, Gaby Ndaba, Itumeleng Kekana, Dineo Motapane: Nine women have been found dead in and around Ekurhuleni since July, and police are now investigating whether some of these cases could be connected. The latest discovery was made on Thursday, 17 September 2026, when another woman's body was found in Dawn Park, Boksburg. The developing investigation has brought renewed attention to the case of Gabby Ndaba, a young woman who disappeared after going for a walk in May 2023. Seven days later, her body was found under a bridge in the Van Dyk Park area. Gabby's family has continued to seek answers, and there has been no reported arrest in her murder case. Now, three years later, the deaths of women across Ekurhuleni have once again placed the issue of violence against women and femicide in the spotlight. Among the women whose cases have received public attention are Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo, Itumeleng Kekana and Dineo Motapane. In July, August and September 2026, several women were found dead in areas including Kempton Park, Pomona, Rhodesfield, Olifantsfontein, Kwa-Thema and Dawn Park. SAPS has assembled a multidisciplinary team, including detectives, forensic specialists, K9 units, tracking teams and the Investigative Psychology Unit, to investigate the cases and determine whether there are links between them. Police have also warned that it is too early to conclude that one person is responsible for all of the deaths. This is a developing story, and information may change as investigators release more details. In this video, we look at the timeline of the cases, the women whose identities have been made public, the investigation into possible links between the deaths, the connection to the area where Gabby Ndaba lived, and the latest developments from police. ⚠️ DISCLAIMER: This video is based on preliminary reports, police statements and publicly available information. Some details may change as the investigation continues. Allegations are presented as allegations and not as established facts unless confirmed by a court or official authority.
