Description
If you've been pruning your Adenium arabicum the same way you prune a standard Desert Rose, you may be leaving a lot of flowering potential on the table. The arabicum has a wide, low, horizontal caudex and a naturally spreading form, so it responds to pruning differently — and when you work with that structure instead of against it, you get more branching, more flowers, and a proportional look that seems to have taken decades.
In this video: why arabicum pruning is different from obesum pruning, the exact timing (and why a calendar date is the wrong signal), tools and latex safety, precisely where to make the cut, formation pruning for the first years, the yearly maintenance prune, how to read your plant's response, and what the flowering timeline looks like afterward.
Tell me in the comments where you're growing from, and how many shoots your arabicum gave you per cut.
