Description

America built the Golden Gate Bridge during one of the hardest periods in its history. Construction began in 1933 during the Great Depression, when thousands of men were desperate for work and the country needed hope. But the location was almost impossible: deep freezing water, violent tides, heavy fog, strong Pacific winds, and earthquake risk. This video tells the real story of how America built the Golden Gate Bridge, one of the most dangerous engineering projects of its time. Workers climbed hundreds of feet above the Golden Gate Strait, walked across narrow steel beams, and risked their lives every day. A giant safety net saved 19 workers, later known as the Halfway-to-Hell Club, but 11 men still died during construction, including 10 in one tragic scaffold accident in 1937. The Golden Gate Bridge is now one of the most famous landmarks in the world, but behind its beauty is a story of danger, sacrifice, engineering, and human courage. #GoldenGateBridge #Engineering #AmericanHistory #Megaprojects #Construction
