Description

Propagating a Jamun (Syzygium cumini) plant using a stem cutting and natural aloe vera gel is an easy, organic gardening method. Choose a branch: Select a healthy, pencil-thick stem from the previous year’s growth of a mature Jamun tree. Cut the stick: Cut a 6 to 8-inch piece with clean shears. Remove any lower leaves to reduce moisture loss. Scrape the bark: Gently scrape or strip the outer bark off the bottom half-inch to one inch of the lower end to expose the inner tissue. Get fresh gel: Cut a leaf from a live aloe vera plant and squeeze out the fresh, clear gel. Coat the end: Dip the scraped bottom end of the Jamun stick directly into the fresh aloe vera gel. Aloe acts as a natural rooting hormone and protects the cut from fungal infections. Prepare the soil: Fill a pot with a well-draining mix, such as a blend of garden soil, compost, and coarse sand or cocopeat. Plant the stick: Insert the coated end of the cutting 2 to 3 inches deep into the soil, making sure at least one growth node is buried. Firm the soil around it. Place in shade: Put the pot in a warm, bright location, but keep it completely out of direct sunlight. Roots and new leaves typically emerge within 50 to 60 days, after which you can gradually introduce the young plant to direct sunlight before transplanting it outdoors.- Nature story #malayalam #facts #jamunfruit #jamunfruitplant #fruit #fruits #naturestory
