Catholic Daily Mass Readings – October 15, 2026 | Chosen in Christ

Join us for the Catholic Daily Mass Readings and Gospel reflection for Thursday, October 15, 2026—the Memorial of Saint Teresa of Jesus, Virgin and Doctor of the Church, Lectionary 470. Saint Teresa of Jesus, also known as Saint Teresa of Ávila, was a Carmelite nun, mystic, spiritual writer and reformer. Through prayer and complete surrender to God, she discovered that true peace is found in an intimate friendship with Jesus Christ. In Ephesians 1:1–10, Saint Paul praises God for blessing us with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Before the foundation of the world, God chose us to be holy and destined us for adoption through Jesus Christ. In Christ, we receive redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of our sins and the abundant riches of God’s grace. Everything in heaven and on earth finds its meaning and unity in Jesus. The Responsorial Psalm proclaims: “The Lord has made known his salvation.” In Luke 11:47–54, Jesus condemns those who reject God’s prophets and prevent others from discovering the truth. He warns the scholars of the law: “You have taken away the key of knowledge. You yourselves did not enter and you stopped those trying to enter.” Faith should never be used to control, discourage or obstruct another person’s journey toward God. Like Saint Teresa of Jesus, we are called to open the way through prayer, truth, humility and authentic witness. Jesus remains the Way, the Truth and the Life. Let us follow Him faithfully and help others discover the freedom, forgiveness and salvation found in Christ.
