13 Old Brass Blowtorches Worth More Than Gold! (You May Have One)

That old brass blowtorch gathering dust in your garage, workshop, barn, or toolbox might look like nothing more than an obsolete tool—but some vintage blowtorches have become fascinating collectibles! Their maker, model, age, construction, rarity, attachments, and original condition can make a surprising difference to collectors. In this video, we're uncovering 13 old brass blowtorches worth checking before you sell, scrap, polish, or throw them away. From classic Primus and Max Sievert examples to British and American blowtorches, these forgotten tools can reveal a fascinating piece of industrial history. 🔎 In This Video You'll Discover: • Vintage Primus brass blowtorches • Rare Max Sievert / Sievert blowtorches • Vintage Monitor brass blowtorches • Old Optimus blowtorches • Vintage Clayton & Lambert torches • Turner Brass Works blowtorches • Vintage Otto Bernz blowtorches • Early Swedish and British pressure blowlamps • Unusual models and specialized burner designs • Blowtorches with original pump assemblies • Rare torches with original caps and fittings • Vintage models with unusual burner attachments • Patent numbers and manufacturer markings • Why the bottom of the fuel tank can reveal important clues • How brass and copper construction can help identify older examples • Why original patina can sometimes be preferable to aggressive polishing • How dents, missing parts, repairs, and corrosion affect value • Why complete and original examples attract more collector interest The key is identification. Simply being made from brass doesn't automatically make a blowtorch valuable. Collectors may pay more attention to the manufacturer, model number, production era, rarity, completeness, and condition. Patent numbers and unusual design features can also help determine exactly what you're looking at. Some of these tools also have an incredible history. Sievert traces its blowtorch heritage back to 1881, when Carl Richard Nyberg developed and patented an early soldering blowtorch. The technology became an important tool for tradespeople before modern electric heating tools became widespread. And don't polish that dusty torch just yet! Original surfaces and aged patina can be desirable to collectors, while aggressive cleaning or restoration can potentially remove markings or alter the character of an antique tool. Completeness is important too—original pumps, filler caps, burners, handles, and specialized attachments can all help with identification and collector appeal. Recent auction results also show just how wide the market can be. Some ordinary vintage blowtorches sell for relatively modest amounts, while unusual or exceptional examples can receive much higher estimates. One 2026 auction, for example, listed an antique brass blowtorch with a $400–$600 estimate, while other vintage examples have sold for considerably less. So before you send that old brass torch to the scrap pile, check the markings, model, burner, pump, and condition first—you may be holding a collectible piece of industrial history! ⚠️ Disclaimer: Most vintage brass blowtorches are NOT worth thousands, and brass content alone does not determine value. Prices vary depending on the exact manufacturer, model, rarity, age, completeness, condition, originality, provenance, and current collector demand. Never assume an old fuel-burning blowtorch is safe to operate. For valuation, compare recent sold prices rather than online asking prices, and consult a qualified specialist when necessary. 👍 If you enjoy vintage tools, antique blowtorches, brass collectibles, old workshop equipment, garage finds, industrial antiques, and hidden-value discoveries, Like, Subscribe, and turn on notifications for more treasure-hunting videos! #VintageBlowtorch #AntiqueBlowtorch #BrassBlowtorch #VintageTools #AntiqueTools #OldTools #ToolsWorthMoney #Primus #Sievert #VintageCollectibles #AntiqueCollectibles #GarageFinds #WorkshopTools #HiddenTreasure #OldThingsWorthMoney
