My mother told me When the moon was alone Daughter of the northern sea One day you must go Follow the raven Follow the foam Where the cold winds carry you They will guide you home My mother told me Even when the dark waves rise I am by your side Sail, my daughter, sail Through the storm and snow Sing your sorrow to the sea Let the old gods know My mother told me Hold your heart like burning fire Through the longest night I hear her whisper In the ocean's breath Love is stronger than the storm Hope is stronger than death Sail, my daughter, sail Where the wild winds blow With my blessing in your blood And the stars below My mother told me One day I would stand With the sea beneath my feet And fate within my hands I will carry every loss Still it blooms again Sail, my daughter, sail Past the mist and foam Every wave that calls your name Lead your spirit home Mmm... My mother told me When the dawn is near Do not bow to grief or fear I am always here #MyMotherToldMe #RavenAstrid #VikingMusic
