This Lake bursted! Lake monoun

This Lake bursted! Lake monoun - - - - - - Lake Monoun looked like an ordinary volcanic lake in Cameroon… but in 1984, something terrifying happened. Without warning, a huge amount of carbon dioxide (CO₂) suddenly escaped from the deep waters of the lake. The gas spread across the surrounding area, displacing the oxygen near the ground and causing people and animals nearby to suffocate. What made the event even more mysterious was that the lake itself showed no obvious signs of a massive eruption. This phenomenon is known as a limnic eruption — a rare natural event in which dissolved gases suddenly escape from deep lake water. Lake Monoun's disaster became an important warning about another nearby volcanic lake: Lake Nyos, where an even larger limnic eruption occurred just two years later. - - - - - - #interestingfacts #shorts #geography #volcano #deadlylake #nature #sciencefacts #didyouknow #curiousfacts #telugu #history
