Description
Script written by Nathan Clarke
Interstellar travel remains out of reach for humanity. Physics constraints dictate we are grounded for a millennium.
Visuals of the solar system and spacecraft often suggest we are on the verge of deep space voyages. Yet, the reality of our current physics constraints dictates a much slower timeline. Moving beyond our immediate neighborhood involves overcoming energy and propulsion hurdles that current technology cannot address.
The engineering realities of human spaceflight dictate that our reach remains limited to our own star system for the foreseeable future. We analyze the distance between stars, the limitations of propulsion, and why the solar system will be the only home for humanity for at least another thousand years.
