Description
Luxury EVs lose significant value after three years. We analyse eight models where the first owner absorbed the heavy cost.
Buying a pre-owned electric vehicle can be an attractive proposition, but the reality of EV depreciation often hides expensive maintenance requirements. We examine eight high-end models coming off their initial three-year leases to see if the purchase price actually justifies the long-term ownership experience.
Using the Porsche Taycan Turbo S as our primary case study, we look at the performance metrics that defined these cars when new, including 0-100 km/h acceleration times. We also break down the true car maintenance costs, such as the expense of replacing carbon ceramic brakes, to help you calculate the total cost of ownership before you commit to these used electric cars.
Subscribe for weekly independent EV breakdowns. Which of these luxury models would you choose for your driveway? Let us know in the comments.
