9 Things Cats ONLY Do for the Person They Truly Trust

The Cat Room Manual, my 46 large-print lessons on living with cats, and a free chapter: margieknowscats.com Your cat walks past your outstretched hand, turns her back on the sofa, and you decide she's aloof, when she may have been telling you she trusts you all along. Margie, who has lived with cats for forty years and spent twenty of them in a county shelter cat room, walks through nine behaviours in order: the tail held straight up, the turned back, the head bump, the belly, the voice she keeps for you, grooming, gifts, kneading, and the slow blink. For each one she explains what it looks like, what it most likely means, and one small thing you can do tonight, and she is clear about which explanations are her own interpretation and which are still unproven. You will also hear what the 2020 University of Sussex slow blink study found and why a cat who gives you only two of the nine can mean just as much. By the end you'll have a simple ten-minute test to try on the floor with your own cat tonight. 0:00 Intro 1:20 Tail Straight Up 3:33 Back Turned Away 4:53 The Head Bump 6:41 Belly Up Trust 8:47 Her Special Voice 11:07 Grooming and Gifts 14:20 Kneading Paws 16:19 Slow Blink Test
