Backed by wealthy owners, record-breaking player contracts, and some of football's biggest stars, the league looked like it had everything it needed to succeed. Instead, it became one of the most fascinating failures in football history. In this documentary, we explore the complete rise and fall of the World Football League, from its ambitious launch in 1974 to its collapse in 1975. You'll learn how the WFL signed NFL stars, battled financial chaos, experimented with new football rules, and ultimately failed in its quest to become a true NFL rival. Featuring stories about the Birmingham Americans, Memphis Southmen, Chicago Winds, Florida Blazers, Detroit Wheels, and more, this is the incredible story of one of the most ambitious leagues ever created.
