Tournament Info:
This is a tournament "redo": since last tournament had many technical difficulties, I will be hosting another one, very similar to the first. Apologies to everyone who wasted time due to the website crashing!
The tournament will consist of 2 rounds. The first round will last 1 hour 45 minutes and the second round will last 3-4 hours. There will be a 15 minute break in between, and a 1 minute break between each individual game. About 15% of players will make it to Round 2.
All participants begin the tournament with 3 hearts. Losing a game will lose you 1 heart, and drawing a game will lose you 0.5 hearts. Each game, you will be matched against someone with a similar heart count as you. Losing all your hearts will eliminate you from the tournament.
Round 1 will consist of 8 games, played under 5+1 time control, instead of 6+0. There will be a 1 minute break between each game, and a 15 minute break between Round 1 and Round 2.
Starting Round 2, all participants will be awarded 2 extra hearts. Round 2 games will be played under 8+1 time control, instead of 10+0, and games will last until there is one player remaining.
Engines and bots of any kind are disallowed. Have fun & good luck!
