Description
Seven hundred years ago, a Turkish dervish named Yunus Emre wrote a warning that has survived every empire that ruled his land:
"This world is a bride, dressed in green and red β but it is a false world. Yalan dΓΌnya."
π Every generation forgets. Every generation learns again.
YALAN DΓNYA β the Turkic phrase for "the false world" β is what people say when love ends, when time betrays, when the ones we loved leave without warning. It is the ancestral sigh that runs from Istanbul to Tashkent to Samarkand, whispered in courtyards and caravans and modern kitchens, one language across a thousand years.
This song is that sigh. Set to a slow kick and a saz. Wrapped in a cello drone. Carried by the desert wind.
Some things are true no matter which century you were born in.

π§ Listen with headphones. In the bridge, an old voice speaks. Don't ask what he's saying. Your soul already knows.

π EXCERPT (English narrative)
I built a house from a promise she made,
And the wind was patient, and the wind stayed.
I bought a name and I wore it like gold,
But the gold was rented, and the wind was cold.
The old ones knew. They wrote it down in stone.
A traveler asked a dervish, "Where is home?"
The dervish smiled and pointed at the sky β
"Nowhere and everywhere. Everything's a lie."
Seven hundred years.
Same lie.
Same longing.
YALAN DΓNYA.

β¨ ABOUT THIS TRACK
The whispered verse in the bridge is an authentic quatrain by Yunus Emre β the 13th-14th century Anatolian dervish poet whose Sufi verses became the shared spiritual language of the entire Turkic-speaking world, from the Balkans to Central Asia. His voice belongs to every soul who has ever spoken Turkish, Uzbek, Azeri, Tatar, Turkmen, Kazakh, Kyrgyz.
These specific lines are his warning about attachment to the world. We left them in his original Ottoman tongue β because some prayers should not be translated. And because you will feel them, whether you understand them or not.
